Saying Goodbye

Yesterday, we said goodbye to Raspberry. We took her to the vet to figure out why she wasn't eating. We then had to take her to an ER vet, because her body temperature was really low. At the ER vet we found out that she most likely had lung cancer (which we could only be sure with a biopsy) and kidney failure. She weighed 4lbs and was so tired. We decided it was time to let her go. What a very sad thing to do! At the end, she stuck out her tongue as if to say...i'm okay and then put her tongue back in. We know that she is in heaven, finally enjoying life...after a tough road.

Tonight, I want to remember her for the crazy cat she was.

1. She would never let us forget where she was because she would cry bloody murder if we weren't in the same room as her.
2. She would always tattle tale on her siblings, if they ate her food.
3. She and Mouse would always fight, and Mouse would usually win, except for once...when she threw Mouse out of the dining room (Mouse went flying!)
4. She would eat your entire arm, if you gave her table food.
5. She loved sitting on the porch.
6. When we first got her, she would sleep on my stomach at night.
7. Whenever you wore a blanket, she was right there with you.
8. She loved to chew Chad's hair when he sat in the arm chair.
9. She loved heights!
10. When going to the vet, she let the entire neighborhood know.
11. She actually loved kids!
12. She got her name, because she had no front teeth and her tongue would stick out.
13. Before living at the shelter, she lived with a cat collector who had 30 cats. Raspberry was the only female and would sit on the top of the refrigerator and fed them off. She was one tough girl!
14. She lived with us for 6 years!
15. She and Linus cried the entire 2 hours from North Chelmsford, MA to Farmington, CT.
16. She loved riding in the car, outside of her carrying case. Due to her years of health problems, she got to visit many places..Hoboken, NJ...Cape Cod.
17. She scared everyone while walking across the beams at Joan and Charlie's Cape House.
18. She danced with one foot in the air.
19. If you pissed her off, she told you off.
20. She could say "Hello"

Raspberry will always be in our family. We love you Bear...thanks for all the memories. We hope you are finally at peace.
